Welcome in Chamonix Mont Blanc
Chamonix is set at the foot of Europe’s highest mountain, the mysterious Mont Blanc at 4807m. A fascinating and traditional ski resort, Chamonix Mont Blanc has the world's biggest lift-served vertical drop of 2807 metres. The Vallée Blanche (24 km) is one of the world’s longest slpes.
The massive Mont Blanc Mountain dominates the skyline. Chamonix has only 152km of marked slopes, but most visitors come here for the off piste skiing, as it offers some of the best in Europe. The Mont Blanc lift pass is of great value. It covers 11 resorts, 25 mountains and over 200 lifts. Chamonix hosted the world's first Winter Olympic Games in 1924.
If you are a good skier, this is the resort for you. The views are stunning and the runs are everything that tough runs should be, steep, long and high! The Grand Montets at the Argentiere end of the valley is renowned for its steep black pisted and non-pisted runs. For intermediates and beginners, there are plenty of on-piste kilometres to enjoy and a lift link over to Italy's Aosta Valley. Les Planards and the Savoy area at the foot of the Brevent area are popular for the gentle nursery slopes within easy reach of Chamonix.
